This is a one of a kind Richie Tobias Jr. built USAC champ car. This car has an interesting story behind it. First off it was built as a sprint car to run the Mopar Million at Eldora Speedway.
The car was painted like his father’s car that he was killed in 25 years earlier at Flemington speedway. It is now repainted
It ran one tune up race at Eldora and then was turned in to a Champ car because the primary champ car was destroyed at the Springfield mile. The first race this car competed in was the Ted Horn 100 at DuQuoin, IL. The car won from the last starting spot in the first night race run in the speedway’s long history. The car is complete less engine with Spare Chassis/ body and all the parts listed.
