1/2" studs provide 50% more clamping force than the standard 7/16" studs. This is a really big deal as you start piling on the power.
On our builds, we upgrade all Dart aluminum LS Next blocks to 1/2" head studs because (a) aluminum is a softer metal and (b) if we are using this block there will be a power adder.
We upgrade all our Gen1 LS Next iron blocks and Darton sleeved aluminum blocks to 1/2" studs because we are using these for really big power (>1,200 hp) and the extra clamping power helps keep the heads from lifting. The dyno video shows one of our iron LS Next turbo builds with 1/2"ers holding the heads down.
Essentially, the only LS Next blocks we leave at 7/16" are the iron SHP's because we only use them to about 1,200 hp.
These items are typically AVAILABLE FOR IMMEDIATE SHIPMENT because we maintain inventory of the parts we need as leading builders of LS Next engines.
